Recruitment can be a daunting prospect for small to medium sized businesses, especially when a business is growing and continuing momentum is key to maintaining growth.
As of December 2016, we at Colour Connection were thrilled to have 2 new members on board.
Chris Hobbs started on 7th December 2016 to assist the production team. The role is Temporary Print Assistant as cover, but Chris has really hit the ground running, forming some great working relationships already with the team. A baptism of fire possibly, but one of Chris’ early experiences as an employee was to attend our Christmas Party – an opportunity to really get to know us! Chris is a great addition and we welcome him with open arms.
The 2nd new team member is Aisha Okoro, our second apprentice, who has the role of Digital Marketing and Business Administration. Aisha’s journey to our office was through some great networking, well thought out referrals and Aisha’s desire and tenacity to gain employment. Alex Kell, Quayside Wealth Management, referred Nikki to speak with Kelly Fortey from 3aaa to explore the possibility of taking on an apprentice. Having discussed the options with Kelly, there was a probability that this could happen in January 2017. However, Aisha impressed Kelly so much that picking up the phone and dialling the Colour Connection hotline was too much to resist! You could call it a great fit, love at first sight or just the perfect match… either way, Leanda and Nikki felt Aisha was an opportunity too good to miss, so she started on 12th December 2016.
Already, Aisha’s appetite to learn and develop herself the ‘Colour Connection way’ means she is proving to be a real asset to the business. It may have only been a few weeks, but in that time Aisha has brought fresh ideas, started working on the marketing strategy, organising events, helped charity partner, CCP, with their annual Hamper Scamper initiative along with Nikki and Leanda, working with Skylight9 to raise social media presence and who could forget joining us at the Christmas Party too! Plus, college starts on 17th January.
Not only is it great to invest in bright, young Gloucestershire talent through the apprentice programme, but having her assistance to the Sales Department means Nikki has more time to focus on networking, new/existing client appointments and increasing sales revenue. The perfect match after all.
